Prepare e-commerce product images

Marketplace listings need clean backgrounds, consistent framing, and fast-loading files. This workflow fits single-SKU photos and small batches before upload.

Before you start

Check your marketplace help center for required aspect ratio, minimum pixels, and background color. This workflow assumes a white or neutral catalog look unless your platform specifies otherwise.

Start from the largest master photo you have. Heavy edits should happen before final compression.

1

Remove or replace the background

Use Image Background Remover for clear product shots on busy tables or colored backdrops. Review edges and brush out halos before export.

2

Crop to marketplace ratio

Open Image Cropper with 1:1 or your platform ratio. Keep the product centered with even padding—many channels crop off-center uploads.

3

Resize to minimum pixels

Image Resizer sets width or height to the marketplace minimum (often 1000–2000 px) without changing the crop ratio.

4

Compress for fast catalog loading

Image Compressor with JPEG or WebP output. Aim for sharp edges on packaging text, not the smallest possible slider value.

Before upload

  • Background is clean and meets platform rules (often pure white)
  • Product fills most of the frame without clipped edges
  • File meets minimum dimensions and format (JPEG/WebP usually preferred)
  • No accidental metadata from phone camera if listing location-sensitive goods
Do I need a studio sweep?

No. A phone photo on a plain surface works if background removal and cropping are careful.

Can I batch several SKUs?

Background removal is one file at a time today; compress and metadata tools support multi-file batches.
