Frequently asked questions
Social apps already show a circle. Do I still need this?
Yes if you want to control what sits in the circle, or need a transparent round PNG (a round pfp) for Discord, WhatsApp, or a website. Apps that only mask a square still benefit from a centered crop.
Is the download a transparent circle PNG?
PNG and WebP keep a transparent circle crop. JPEG cannot store transparency, so the area outside the circle uses the fill color.
How is this different from the rectangular cropper?
The Image Cropper exports a rectangle. This page uses a circular crop and exports a round profile picture. Use the cropper for print frames and exact pixel boxes.
Can I use this for WhatsApp, Discord, or WeChat?
Yes. One round PNG works as a WhatsApp profile photo, Discord avatar, or WeChat avatar. Size chips include 400, 512, and 1080 pixels.
Does Pixlery upload my photo?
No. Framing and export run locally in your browser.
I need a thicker border than the ring.
Use a light ring here, or add a full border in Add border to image after export. To cut the person out first, open Image Background Remover. For feed sizes, use the Social Media Image Toolkit.
